Privacy policy

Last updated 24 October 2026

This policy explains what PaySakute collects when you use the app to send airtime or buy NAWEC Cashpower for someone in The Gambia, why, and who it is shared with. It also covers this website.

Your account

You sign in with an email address, a phone number, Apple or Google. We keep your name, the email address or phone number you sign in with, and the passkeys, sessions and devices linked to your account, which you can review from Account in the app.

The people and meters you send to

  • Recipients: the name you give them, their Gambian mobile number and its network.
  • Meters: the NAWEC meter number, your own label for it, the customer name NAWEC has registered to it, and the phone number that receives its token by SMS.

You can edit or remove a saved person or meter at any time.

Your orders

For each purchase we keep the recipient or meter, the amount in dalasi, the currency you paid in, our exchange rate, the processing fee, the total, the order reference, and its payment and delivery status. For Cashpower we also keep what NAWEC returns: the token, units, receipt number and any NAWEC fee and VAT. This is what your receipts and history are built from.

Your card

Card details are entered and stored by Stripe, not PaySakute. We never see or store your full card number or security code. We receive from Stripe what is needed to show your saved cards and receipts — the card brand, its last four digits and its expiry date — and the result of each payment and refund.

Who we share it with

  • Stripe, to take card payments, run your bank’s own verification and send refunds.
  • The mobile network or NAWEC, through our fulfilment partner, so a top-up can be delivered or a token issued. They receive the recipient’s number or the meter number, the amount, and for Cashpower the phone that receives the token.

We do not sell your information.

Notifications

We send push notifications, and emails to your account address, about your orders: when a token is issued, a refund completes, an order needs a review, or a scheduled send needs your bank’s approval. If you turn push notifications off, the same information stays on your home screen and in History.

On your phone

The app keeps unfinished drafts on your phone, so a send you started is still there after a restart or a dropped connection, until it is paid.
